Hallo from Worcester, Western Cape, South Africa. Today is the last day of our Passover weekend. ( Monday is still a holiday on our side). It is a very important 3 days for us as we celebrate the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We don’t do the bunny/easter egg thing , since it has absolutely nothing to do with Him, but wet take time to just honor and remember His sacrifice.
We spent most of the weekend building a kitchen extention in our backyard, vending at the Montagu farmers market on Saturday and visiting my mom on Sunday in Gansbaai. We finished the roof of the kitchen extention this morning, so all in all it was a good, productive, peaceful weekend.
After the workshop two weeks ago, which do be honest, did not work out as I hoped it would and also because of a lack of interest, I chose to cancel the June workshop . I am, however, attending the Vries Jou Gat af Fees in Sutherland instead, so all is well that ends well. My next market day is next Saturday in Swellendam. This will be my first time at that market and I am looking forward to it.
Now on to new and current available products.
The new series of cottons have finally started picking up. I have a new addition to the team (which up to now was a one girl show) Rose Saunders who is taking over the cotton dyeing. Thus the name for the label for the cotton yarns will be A Cup of yarn, Cottons by Rose. The available cottons will be uploaded to the shop during the week, so keep an eye on my instagram feed.
Some of the beautiful colors dyed up by Rose.
The hand dyed merinos that are currently on the site are available in Aran and Sockweight. They are also one of a kind colorways that will not be exactly repeated. Some handdyed fibre will be added soon as well as some more handspun yarns.

Other than yarn dyeing, spinning and attending markets, I am currently busy with 3 knitting projects that I just can’t seem to finish. I am past the yoke of my flax sweater, at the decreases of my husbands beanie and slooooowly moving forward on my next Linus shawl. These are all items that are very much needed, but time is not my friend right now when it comes to knitting.
I will be uploading a You Tube video later this week to show my progress and hopefully have at least one FO in the mix.
Well, that’s it for now. You will be able to see any new news on my Instagram and Face Book feed, so follow me there.
I hope everybody has an awesome, productive week ahead.
Be blessed and take care
